Amongst Denmark's most famous cheeses are the semi-firm cutting cheeses, Danbo, Havarti, Maribo, Esrom and Samsø, as well as the semi-firm blue cheese, Danablu. The Mammen Dairy produces the Danbo, Samsø and Havarti cheese sorts. The Drøsbro Dairy produces Danablu, which is a Danish blue cheese with a creamy consistency. The crust is mottled and made from cow's milk. |
In addition, we have been commencing a production of white cheese in brine since 2008, formerly known as Feta, but after the EU court ruling in 2006, white cheese may only be called Feta when it has been produced in Greece. Read more: |
